Recently Build-A-Bear recalled nearly 300,000 stuffed bears due of potential choking hazard to children. Consumers who have purchased the bear can bring it to any Build-A-Bear store and return it for another stuffed animal.

• Serious Head Injuries to Infants Continue Due to Falls from Bumbo Baby Seats Used on Elevated Surfaces; Injuries occurring despite previous recall warning; parents urged to use caution

Due to the serious risk of injury to babies, CPSC and Bumbo International Trust of South Africa (“Bumbo International”) are urging parents and caregivers to never place Bumbo Baby Seats on tables, countertops, chairs or other raised surfaces. Infants aged 3-10 months old have fallen out of the Bumbo seat and suffered skull fractures and other injuries.

• Collective Brands Recalls KEDS Girls’ Shoes Due to Laceration Hazard

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Collective Brands, Inc., of Topeka, Kan., is voluntarily recalling about 45,000 KEDS® “Know It All” girls’ shoes. Ornamental stars on the heel of the shoe may loosen, posing a laceration hazard.

• Children’s Animal Slippers Recalled Due to Choking Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Family Dollar Stores

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Family Dollar Services Inc., of Matthews, N.C., is voluntarily recalling about 160,000 Kidgets® Animal Sock Top slippers. The animal’s eyes can detach from the slippers, posing a choking hazard to young children.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Build-A-Bear Workshop®, of St. Louis, is voluntarily recalling about 19,720 (in the United States) and 1,100 (in Canada) sets of swimwear with inflatable inner tube. The inner tube accessory can be pulled over a small child’s head, posing a strangulation hazard.

• CPSC Warns High-Powered Magnets and Children Make a Deadly Mix

An increasing number of incident reports to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) indicate that high-powered magnets continue to be a safety risk to children. From toddlers to teens, children are swallowing these magnets and the consequences are severe.

• Boy Scouts of America Recalls Cub Scout Wind Tech Jackets Due to Strangulation Hazard

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Boy Scouts of America, Charlotte, N.C., is voluntarily recalling about 5,400 Cub Scout Wind Tech jackets. The jackets have retractable cords with toggles at the hood/neck area and at the waist, which can pose a strangulation or entrapment hazard to children.

• Dutailier Group Recalls Drop-Side Cribs Due to Entrapment and Fall Hazards

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Dutailier Group Inc., of Quebec, Canada, is voluntarily recalling about 440 drop-side cribs. The slats on the drop side can detach from the top and bottom rails creating a space between the slats. An infant or toddler’s body can become entrapped in the space, which can lead to strangulation and/or suffocation. A child can also fall out of the crib.

• Battat Recalls Magnetic Sketchboards; Magnetic Pen Tip Poses Choking Hazards

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Battat Inc., of Plattsburgh, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 95,000 (in the United States) and 4,300 (in Canada) Toulouse-LapTrec magnetic sketchboards. The magnetic tip of the drawing pen can dislodge from the pen, posing a choking hazard to children.

• Kiddieland Recalls Disney-branded Fairies Plastic Trikes Due to Laceration Hazard

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Kiddieland Toys Limited, of Scituate, Mass., is voluntarily recalling about 12,000 Disney Fairies Plastic Racing Trikes. The plastic fairy figures protrude from the top of the handle bar posing a laceration hazard if a child falls on them.

My daughter went to a birthday party there today, and she had a fun time. She absolutely loved the science experiments and was happy to take home her very own bleaker, funnel and dropper. She wants to make more potions at home. The staff was great and very friendly too. They have other fun activities including a shadow board, which allows your kid to make shadows on a glow-in-the-dark board. In addition to their party room, they have a store front, which your child will likely have a hard time passing by without asking to buy something small. We bought snakes!

It was first day for Pumpkinville fall festival and its held annually at the Leesburg Animal Park. The 2011 season are open daily from 9am-6pm Sept. 24th – Nov. 8th! Ticket price is $13.00 for adults and free for kids below 2 years. They are serving fresh apples & cider for free. When you leave a park, you will get free pumpkin with each admission as well.

This park has 21-acre petting zoo and lot of fun activities: hand-feed animals including goats, sheep, donkeys, llamas, deer, camels, ducks, fish and others; wagon rides and pony rides, inflatable obstacle course, face & pumpkin painting and many more things. My kids (2 and 4 year old) were thrilled and had a an great time at the petting zoo that allowed them to feed all sorts of farm animals. Group reservations and birthday parties are available.

My youngest daughter was very active and we bought for her the Baby Trend Walker. It was very easy to assemble and it’s light weight. It is the perfect place to contain her for some time and also help as a feeding station, but my 10 month old daughter know already how climb out.

I would recommend it to any one. For $39 dollars it works great and for babies it’s lot of fun to move around. It’s sold at Babies R Us and Toys R Us.
